1. The Miles
The United States is a beautiful country, but it can be a nightmare to travel across. What makes it worse is that if you’re driving cross-country to do business, you can’t focus on the business itself. All that time you’re spending looking out your window and counting every cornstalk in Iowa is time that you can’t spend actually getting anything done.
2. Poor Health
Imagine a narrow, metallic cylinder that is packed to the brim with pathogens and filth. Put two wings on it, and you’ve got yourself a passenger plane! Traveling by car is just as bad, as it’s far more dangerous and will keep you sitting down all day and eating cheap roadside food. You can try to get a workout in at your hotel’s gym, but good luck with the single broken treadmill and odd number of grimy dumbbells.
3. Other Human Beings
Whether by train, plane, or automobile, traveling brings out the absolute worst in our species. Road rage, bad hygiene, and questionable parenting can really put a damper on your travel experience.
It was experiences like this that drove us off the road – the business travel road, that is. We started asking ourselves how we could maintain our business without having to travel. Fortunately, we weren’t sure if we could pull it off and what went into the design was a bit of overkill, because what we designed actually increased our business 125%. Not a bad problem to have, if you ask us.
