Case Study: The Tiny Tippers

Here is an interesting situation that we think can help get you more business. It is an interaction we had with a merchant about what they like and didn’t like about their current card processing system:

Waitress: “The problem is our customers are cheap.”
Advisor: “What???”
Waitress: “Yeah, they’re terrible tippers. Where I worked before they had a line for tips and I made twice as much as what I make here.”

Ah.
So here’s the deal:

The merchant was a very small and seasonal golf course in a small community up north.

Their monthly card volume during the active season was $3,000 – $9,000.

The business owner wanted to add tips, but their card swipe terminal didn’t have the capability for it, it was just too old to add a tip line!

However, we found enough hidden fees from their existing (now former) card processor to cover the lease of a new terminal with that function built in.

Business owner was happy, and the waitress was thrilled!
